I’ve had so much fun creating cards with the new Home for the Holidays Stamp of Approval collection. Even though the launch was a couple of days ago, I’ve got another card to share with you today. Along with productions from the Home for the Holidays SOA release, I also used a couple of products from last year’s Winterhaven SOA holiday collection.
I started this card by stamping the background layer. I used the Plaid Background stamp and Rockin’ Red ink. Next, I stamped the tree in a rainbow of colors using my Mini Misti. Starting from top to bottom, the colors I used are Rockin’ Red, Tiki Torch, Limoncello, Lime Rickey, Something Borrowed, and Grape Crush. I used the Festive Trimmings add-on die set to cut out the tree. I then used the Over Coffee and Icing on the Cake inks to stamp the trunk at the base of the tree. I inked the entire trunk with Over Coffee then added a bit of Icing on the Cake to one side for a little shading.
To top the tree, I stamped the star from the Good Stuff stamp set with VersaMark ink then heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. Once the embossing powder cooled, I die cut it using the coordinating die from the Good Stuff die set.
For the snowy layer, I used the sloping hill die from the Winterhaven die set. I ran the edge along my VersaMark ink pad then applied some Wanderlust glitter embossing powder. I adhered it to a white layer using foam squares then stamped the Season’s Greetings sentiment from the Holiday Mix stamp set in the upper left corner of the white layer.
To assemble the card, I adhered the plaid background layer to the front of a top-folding card base. I adhered the white sentiment layer to a piece of Midnight cardstock cut 1/8″ larger than the white layer then adhered that to the plaid background. I adhered the tree to the sentiment layer tucking the trunk in behind the snowy slope then adhered the gold embossed star to the top of the tree. To finish things off, I added some clear overlay Sparkle pen over all the images in the tree.
If you haven’t picked up your Home for the Holidays Stamp of Approval collection, there are still some available. You can head over to Catherine’s online store to pick one up before they’re gone.
Until next time …
