Woo Hoo! After all the fun hops and reveals over the past several days, the new All the Trimmings release from Catherine Pooler Designs is now available for purchase. If you would like to pick up any of these products, just head over to Catherine’s online store and grab them before they sell out!
For my card today, I really wanted to show off this really fun candy cane striped patterned paper. It’s from the new Love, Doves and Poinsettias Patterned Paper. I cut a piece to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ then adhered it the front of a card base made from white card stock.
For the focal panel, I die cut a piece of white card stock using the largest stitched rectangle from the Postage Stamp Dies. I stamped the Noel sentiment and one of the flourishes from the Seasonal Sentiments and Borders Stamp Set stamp set on the stitched rectangle using Midnight ink. I also stamped the Santa Hat from the Holiday Charm stamp set on a scrap piece of white cardstock. I colored all the elements using Copic markers then die cut the Santa’s hat using the coordinating die.
I adhered the stitched rectangle panel to the card front using foam tape. I then added the Santa’s hat over the Noel sentiment, also using foam tape. For a bit of shimmer, I added a generous coat of Clear Overlay Sparkle Pen over the Santa’s hat. As a final touch, I added a 1/2″ strip of the leftover striped pattern paper on the inside of the card and that completed this fun and colorful holiday card.
For anyone who may have missed the recent announcement on Catherine’s blog, I just wanted to take a moment to say this release will be my last as part of Catherine’s Creative Team. I’ve had such an amazing time the past two years being part of her team, but have decided to step down to take a little break for a while. I’ve enjoyed every minute of being part of the CPD family and absolutely love all the ladies on the team. I just want to send out a huge THANK YOU to Catherine for having me as part of her team these past two years. Love you!!
Please know I’m not going anywhere though. I’ll still be posting my card designs and other crafty projects here on my blog as well as on Instagram and videos from time to time on my YouTube channel. Now that I’ll have more time for general crafting without the DT commitments, I’m looking forward to trying some new brands I’ve recently discovered (Picket Fence Studios, Ink Road Stamps, etc.) as well as learning more about some techniques I’ve been wanting to explore more (monoprinting, alcohol inks, etc.). I hope you’ll stick around and join me on the journey.
Until next time …
