I recently discovered a new to me stamp company called Ink Road Stamps. Have you heard of them? They have so many awesome stamp sets and definitely have a great sense of humor when it comes to designing their stamps. If you haven’t heard of them, I definitely recommend checking them out!
I made a batch of really fun fall-themed cards last night. I used an awesome one sheet wonder (OSW) template designed by my friend Jen Cerzio from World of JenCraft. Her template calls for one sheet of 12×12″ patterned paper to make 12 cards, but I doubled up and used two sheets and ended up with 24 cards. The paper I used is from the Grateful Hearts paper pack and coordinating cardstock pack from Close to My Heart (CTMH). I’ll be showcasing these cards here on my blog over the new few days.
For today’s cards, I used one of Ink Road’s recent releases called PSL. Given my love of pumpkin spice lattes, buying this stamp set was a complete “no brainer” for me. The sentiment on this first card totally cracks me up, too. Now you see what I meant earlier about their sense of humor when designing stamps. 😉
I used one of the patterned paper pieces from my stack of OSW pieces and adhered it to the left edge of a side-folding card base. I adhered a strip of Sapphire cardstock from CTMH along the edge of the patterned paper per Jen’s guide then stamped the sentiment right next to the cardstock strip. I did some simple masking using a sticky note to stamp the word pumpkin in Pumpkin Pie ink and the rest of the Spice Girls names in Night of Navy ink. Both inks are from Stampin’ Up (SU).
For the focal image, I stamped the mug from the PSL stamp set on some white cardstock using Jet Black ink from Lawn Fawn. I colored the mug using the following Copic markers:
- Mug and sprinkles on whipped cream: YR24, YR27, E09
- Whipped cream and shadow: W00, W1, W3, 0 Colorless Blender
After my coloring was done, I die cut the mug using one of the stitched circles from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies from SU. I also die cut a coordinating scalloped circle from Sapphire cardstock by CTMH to use as a mat layer beneath the stitched circle. It was cut using the Layering Circle Framelits Dies, also from SU. I adhered the two circles together than added it to the card front. For a little bit of embellishment, I added a couple of coats of Clear Overlay Sparkle Pen over the entire mug and that completed the card.
Here’s another variation I made using the same mug image. I used a different sentiment from the stamp set on this one and stamped it just using the Pumpkin Pie ink. Everything else is pretty must the same though.
I’m entering this card in the following challenges:
- Paper Craft Crew – their current theme is a fall inspirational photo. Fall is all about the pumpkin spice lattes. 🙂
- Fusion Card Challenge – their current theme is also a fall inspirational photo.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my cards today. As I mentioned earlier, I’ll be sharing more of the cards from this OSW over the next few days. I used a variety of images and sentiments for these cards, so don’t worry, I promise they aren’t all just mugs of my beloved pumpkin spice lattes. 😉
Until next time …
