Layered Snowflakes Using Beautiful Blizzard

Even though I’ve already “officially” completed a homework card for each day of the Clean & Simple Holiday class at Online Card Classes, I’m back with another card based on that class. I decided I just couldn’t resist creating my take on a card taught by Cathy Zielske. One of the things I love about this design is that it could be used for Christmas, but could also be used for a general winter-themed card, too.

The stamps and dies I used for this card are part of the Beautiful Blizzard bundle from Stampin’ Up. The die is actually a cover plate die, but I used some of the snowflakes it cuts out to layer in my circles which are from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies.

I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink to coordinate with the middle layer of card stock. I stamped the small snowflake clusters in Gray Granite to coordinate with the top layer of card stock to create a tone-on-tone look. The innermost layer of card stock is Cherry Cobbler. As a final touch, I added some rhinestones in the center of each of the die cut snowflakes.

Until next time …
