I absolutely love the Painted Harvest stamp set from Stampin’ Up!® While so many of us seem to reach for it for Fall cards, I thought it would be fun to make a Springtime card using it.
I stamped the flower images twice, once using Flirty Flamingo ink and again using Poppy Parade ink. I stamped off once on the first layer, then used the ink full strength on the second layer which is more detailed. The center was stamped using Crumb Cake ink. Once stamped, I fussy cut the flowers using my Paper Snips then curled up the edges slightly using a Bone Folder.
For the leaves, I stamped the solid layer using Granny Apple Green ink then stamped the detail layer, also using Granny Apple Green. Since I wanted a more subtle variation in the ink color on the leaves vs. what I wanted on the flowers, I didn’t stamp off first on either layer of the leaves. I then cut out the leaf images using the coordinating Leaf Punch, also curling up the leaves slightly using a Bone Folder.
To assemble the card, I created a top-folding card base using Whisper White Thick cardstock. I adhered the Poppy Parade flower directly to the card base using Liquid Multipurpose Glue. I attached the Flirty Flamingo flower slightly overlapping it using a Stampin’ Dimensional. I tucked the leaves in beneath the flowers using the Liquid Multipurpose Glue so I would have a little wiggle room time to get the placement just where I wanted.
I stamped the sentiment, also from the Painted Harvest stamp set, using Granny Apple Green ink. For a final bit of embellishment, I used the small dotted image from the stamp set to randomly stamp dot clusters along two edges of the card. Some are done in Poppy Parade ink stamped off twice and the rest are done in Flirty Flamingo ink stamped off once.
I’m entering this card in the following challenge:
- Fusion Card Challenge – I used colors in the photo of the current challenge as my inspiration for this card.
