Anyone who knows me well knows I love bunnies. I even have one tattooed on my right ankle. Since I love bunnies so much, I thought it would be fun to use one of the adorable bunnies from the Pix’s Favorite stamp set from Mama Elephant to create a fun birthday card.
I stamped the bunny image using Memento London Fog ink. This helps give the bunny a softer look versus using Tuxedo Black, but’s still Copic marker friendly, as are all the Memento inks. Here are the Copic markers I used to color the bunny image:
- Bunny: W3, C1, C00, RV10 (I love using a combination of warm and cool grays when coloring critters.)
- Bow and Dress: Y15, Y17, Y38
- Heart: RV14, RV17, RV19
- Ground: C1, C00, 0
For the background, I used a piece patterned paper from the Hello 6×6 paper pad from Doodlebug Design. I love all the fun polka dots and the gold foil accents. I matted it on a piece of Doll Pink cardstock from Simon Says Stamp which perfectly matched the pink polka dots in the patterned paper.
I stamped the happy birthday sentiment using the same Memento London Fog ink. It’s from an older Clearly Besotted stamp set called A Little Sentimental. The set I own has been retired, but they have a newer version of this set with the same name. I highly recommend this stamp set because it’s full of nice simple greetings for a wide variety of occasions. It’s an absolute staple in my craft room.
After assembling my card, I wanted to give it a bit of embellishment. I added a coat of shimmer pen to the heart to give it a bit of sparkle. I then covered the heart with the thin coat of Glossy Accents to give it a bit of shine.
I’m entering this card in the following challenge(s):
- Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – the current theme is birthday cards in honor of their 10th birthday.
- Seize the Birthday – the current theme is anything goes birthday cards.
- AAA Birthday – the current theme is anything goes birthday cards.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you enjoyed the project I’ve shared. Until next time …
