Caffeinated Fox

In a recent blog post/video, Therese of Lost in Paper shared a really fun stamp set called Caffeinated Fox from The Rabbit Hole Designs. As soon as I saw it, I immediately went online and bought it because 1) it’s a fox, and 2) it’s coffee themed. What other explanation is needed? LOL

I actually colored the fox image for day 28 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge that just wrapped up. I stamped it on some Neenah Solar White cardstock using Premium Black Hybrid Ink from It’s quickly become my “go to” black ink and works great with alcohol markers. As with other hybrid inks on the market, just be sure to let it dry well before you start coloring.

After I finished all the Copic coloring, I fussy cut the fox out using my precision scissors. I then used a white gel pen to add polka dots to the robe and coffee mug.

Since I wanted my little fox to take center stage, I kept the rest of the card very simple. I created a layer to go behind my fox from the aqua colored wash from the Watercolor Wishes Petite Paper Pack from Lawn Fawn. I die cut it using the largest rectangle from the Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX Die-namics by My Favorite Things. I adhered the scalloped rectangle to a top-folding card base using foam tape then adhered the fox on that using some foam squares.

For the sentiment, I used one of the included sentiments with the stamp set. I stamped it on some white cardstock using the Black Hybrid ink then stamped it again using VersaMark ink. Since I was double stamping, I definitely used my MISTI for this step. After stamping with the VersaMark, I added some clear embossing powder then melted it using my heat tool. To trim the sentiment nice and thin, I used the smaller Cut Align tool and trimmed it at 1/16″. I snipped a banner end on both sides using my scissors then adhered it to the card using some liquid glue.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you enjoyed the project I’ve shared. Until next time …
