We’re halfway through game #144 over at AAA Cards Clean and Simple Challenges. If you haven’t played along yet, we’d love to have you join us. The current theme is maxi white space with the optional twist of Christmas in July. If you’d like to see who our winners were for Game 143, you can find that post here.
While there seems to be varying ideas of what constitutes a clean and simple card, we have a clearly defined explanation for what it means at AAA Cards. Please remember that white space actually means empty space. At AAA Cards, that means NO embossing, patterns, or textures in the empty space, please.
With all that in mind, in addition to my DT card I made for this game, here’s another one I’ve created which follows the AAA Cards CAS guidelines.
I started by stamping the wreath on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock using Premium Black Hybrid Ink from Scrapbook.com. The wreath image is from the retired Homespun Holidays stamp set from Ellen Hutson. After letting the the ink dry for a bit, I colored in the wreath using my Copic markers.
Once I had everything things, I cut out the wreath using the coordinating die. I adhered it to an A2 vertical card base using foam squares. I added the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Heartfelt Christmas stamp set from Scrapbook.com using the same black hybrid ink I used to stamp the wreath. Finally, I added some clear Wink of Stella over all the ornaments in the wreath and that completed the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you’ve enjoyed this fun CAS project. Please be sure to head over to AAA Cards to play along with our current challenge. As always, please remember to keep your card CAS which, for us, means plenty of white space free of images, texture, pattern, etc. with minimal layers and embellishments.
