I’m back with my second card as part of the collaboration I’m participating in with Scrapbook.com and Catherine Pooler Designs. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I was provided a group of products to create some fun projects which will hopefully give you some inspiration on different ways to use these amazing products. Let’s jump right in to today’s card!
This card features the I Scream, You Scream stamp set and coordinating dies as well as the Sum-Sum-Summertime patterned paper. I started by stamping some of the smaller ice cream images from the stamp set on some Neenah card stock using Catherine’s Midnight ink. After letting the ink dry for a bit, I colored the images using some Copic markers in colors to coordinate with the inks I was planning to use. After they were colored, I cut them out using the coordinating dies.
Next, I moved on to the focal panel to go behind the ice creams. I trimmed down a piece of Neenah card stock. I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set near the bottom of the panel using the Midnight ink. I then used the pom-pom garland image from the stamp set and filled the top of the card with a bunch of garlands using Catherine’s inks in Be Mine, It’s a Boy, Melon Ice, and Mint to Be. I stamped off all the colors (except Mint to Be) once before stamping on my panel. This helped keep the look nice and soft so the background wouldn’t overpower the ice creams.
Now it was time to assemble the card. I used one of the Neenah vertical card bases from Scrapbook.com. These things are so handy!! They’re pre-cut and scored, so all you have to do is fold it over and burnish the crease.
Once the card base was folded, I adhered one of the fun patterned papers from the Sum-Sum-Summertim paper pack. I adhered the focal panel centered on the card front using foam tape then added the ice creams using some foam squares that I cut down into smaller pieces. As a final bit of embellishment, I added some clear Wink of Stella to all the ice creams and that completed the card.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my second project for this collaboration. Above is a little sneak peek of tomorrow’s card which will be my final one for this collaboration series.
