I’m back with the final day of my collaboration with Scrapbook.com and Catherine Pooler Designs. Today’s card was inspired by the ice cream truck in my neighborhood. It nearly always drives through just before dark, so I decided to create this little dusk scene for the adorable ice cream truck from the I Scream, You Scream stamp set.
I started by stamping the truck on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock using Midnight ink from Catherine Pooler. After letting the ink dry well, I colored the image using my Copic markers then cut it out using the coordinating die.
I grabbed one of the Neenah Vertical card bases from Scrapbook.com. Using the Life Changing Blender Brushes, I blended on some of Catherine’s Be Mine ink coming up from the bottom of the card front then blended some of her It’s a Boy over it then continued it up the card front. The two colors blended together created a beautiful dusky purple.
I thought the musical note Melon Ice patterned paper from the Sum-Sum-Summertime patterned paper pack would be the perfect ground for the icea cream truck. I cut a piece and adhered it along the bottom of the card front. I then adhered the ice cream truck to the card using some foam squares. Using the Midnight ink, I stamped one of the fun sentiments from the Punctuated Party stamp set on the card. For a final bit of embellishment, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the ice cream on the top of the truck and that completed the card.
