I’m back today for my second week in the Designer Spotlight at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I’ll be guest designing for the challenge throughout the month of August. Thank you all for your warm comments, emails, and likes on Instagram from my first Designer Spotlight post last week.
As I mentioned, we’re moving on to a new challenge today. The theme for the new challenge is Midsummer Blues featuring products from Avery Elle. In case you aren’t sure what Midsummer Blues means, it simple means you need to incorporate some blue into your project. Heres when I came up with for my design this week.
For my card, I started with a panel of white cardstock cut to 3-1/4 x 5-1/2. I stamped the bunny and balloon images from the Some Bunny stamp set by Avery Elle. I colored the images using a variety of Copic markers. Here are the colors I used:
- Bunny: W00, W1, W3, W5, R20, N0, N2
- Balloon: B21, B24, B26, B39
- Sky: B00, B0000, 0
- Grass: YG23, YG25
After I had all the coloring done, I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set on the balloon using VersaMark ink then heat embossed it using white embossing powder. To give the balloon a little highlight, I added a little swish using a white gel pen.
To assemble the card, I started by creating a top-folding card base from white cardstock. I adhered some rainbow plaid patterned paper to the front of the card for a background. Finally, I adhered the focal panel centered on the card front using some foam tape and that completed my card.
Unfortunately, I didn’t realize until after I’d made the card that the plaid paper is no longer available. I’ll link to a similar rainbow plaid paper in the supply list below that would work equally well if you want to CASE my card.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you enjoyed the project I’ve shared. Until next time …
