AAA Cards #150 – One Layer Card

We’re kicking off a new challenge today over at AAA Cards. The theme for our new challenge is one layer card with the optional twist of autumn. We’re happy to welcome back Joy D’Souza from Handcrafted by Joy as our Guest Designer for this challenge. We also want to send out a big thank you to Winnie & Walter for sponsoring our latest challenge.

For this card, I started by stamping the two smaller pumpkins from the Moonlight stamp set from Winnie & Walter using Premium Black Hybrid ink from Scrapbook.com. After stamping them on the card base, I stamped each of them again on some masking paper and fussy cut them out. I masked off the two smaller pumpkins then stamped the larger pumpkin slightly higher between them. By masking the two smaller pumpkins and stamping the larger one higher, it gives the appearance that the larger pumpkin is sitting behind the others. I completed the scene by drawing the horizon line using a Copic Multiliner pen and a ruler.

Once my scene was completed, I did some simple coloring using my Copic markers. I used different color combinations for each pumpkin to help keep them from blending in together. I then added a simple background using light blues for the area behind the pumpkins and some warm grays for the surface they’re sitting on. To complete the card, I stamped one of the sentiments from the same stamp set using the black hybrid ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you’ve enjoyed this fun CAS project. Please be sure to head over to AAA Cards to play along with our current challenge. As always, please remember to keep your card CAS which, for us, means plenty of white space free of images, texture, pattern, etc. with minimal layers and embellishments.

You colored these pumpkins beautifully! I took a copic coloring class yesterday at my stamp store so I hope I can get better with it. I have always loved my Copics but struggle with the blending. Lovely Fall card :).
