Even though we’ve still been having temperatures in the 90s here in southern California, my mind always turns to Autumn when it’s September. Today I used Stampin’ Up!® products to create this fun Autumn-themed thank you card.
I started by stamping the large leaf from the Gather Together stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I wasn’t thinking and stamped the leaf on Whisper White. If I were doing it again, I would stamp it on Very Vanilla to match the sentiment panel. Once the ink was dry, I colored the leaf with Stampin’ Blends markers in Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, and Mango Melody. I cut it out using the coordinate die from the Gathered Leaves Dies.
Next, I created the background panel for the sentiment. I stamped the Birch background stamp on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Sahara Sand ink. I cut out a piece of the stamped panel using the largest stitched square from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
While I had my Big Shot out, I created some other elements for my card using the Well Written Dies. I cut out three of the Thanks word die and one of the leafy stems from Soft Suede cardstock. I also cut out two of the floral flourishs from Vellum cardstock.
To assemble the card, I created a top-folding card base from Sahara Sand cardstock then embossed the front of the card using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered the leafy stem and vellum flourishes to the back of the die cut square using liquid glue then adhered that square to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered the three thanks word dies stacked together then adhered it to the square using liquid glue. I adhered the maple leaf to the card using a combination of liquid glue for the portion overlapping the square and the rest with Stampin’ Dimensional. For a final bit of embellishment, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella over the colored leaf and that completed the card.
I’m entering this card in the following challenge(s):
