I love creating clean and simple (CAS) cards. While they can often look like very simple cards, most card makers will confirm creating clean and simple cards isn’t nearly as easy as one might think. It can be a real challenge to refrain from adding more and more stuff to a card and to keep it truly clean and simple.
I decided to let the die cut and embossed leaves be the star of the show on this card. I used the new Gathered Leaves Dies from the Holiday Catalog now available from Stampin’ Up!® Three of the dies in the set cut and emboss at the same time. I used two of the three cut and emboss dies to cut leaves using Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Merry Merlot cardstocks.
After I had all the leaves cut, I added some sparkle to them using some DIY shimmer mist I made using Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. To create the shimmer mist, I filled a Stampin’ Spritzer about half full with some 70% isopropyl alcohol. I added about 8-10 drops of the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint into the spritzer then filled it the rest of the way with more alcohol.
Next, I cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4″. I stamped one of the sentiments from the Country Home stamp set using Merry Merlot ink. I then adhered the die cut leaves next to the sentiment using liquid glue. To complete the card, I adhered the focal panel to a top-folding card base made from Very Vanilla Thick cardstock.
I’m entering this card in the following challenge(s):
