I’ve been having a lot of fun the past few days playing with products from the new Holiday Catalog now available from Stampin’ Up!® I thought I would take a little break today though and share a card created from one of the stamp sets in the Experience Creativity brochure as well as products from the Annual Catalog.
I started by stamping the flower image from the Hoot Hoot Hooray stamp set on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. After letting the ink dry for several minutes, I colored the image using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I used the Petal Pink Combo for the petals, the Pineapple Punch Combo for the center, and the Old Olive Combo for the leaves and stem.
After the coloring was finished, I cut the image out using the second largest stitched square from the Stitched Shapes Dies. While I was die cutting, I also cut out the coordinating scalloped square from the Layering Squares Dies in Petal Pink. I used the largest scalloped square to cut a piece of the polka dot paper available in the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The final thing I did while I had my die cutting machine out was to emboss the background panel. I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4 x 5-1/4″ and ran it through my Big Shot using the Subtle 3D embossing folder.
To assemble the card, I created a top-folding card base from Petal Pink cardstock. I adhered the embossed background panel to the card front using liquid glue then adhered the DSP scalloped square to the background, also using liquid glue. I adhered the focal image to the Petal Pink scalloped square using liquid glue then adhered the matted layer centers on the DSP scalloped square using Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a bit of embellishment, I added a coat of clear Wink of Stella to the flower petals and center. Finally, I added a coat of the Find Tip Glue Pen over the center for a bit of dimension and that completed my card.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you enjoyed the project I’ve shared. Until next time …
