About Me

Mel's Card Corner | About Me

I’m a Tennessee girl who now lives in southern California. I love drinking coffee, creating handmade cards, reading, traveling, and cheering on my beloved University of Tennessee Volunteers football team. I’m a total geek and love all things related to technology & gadgetry including my iPhone, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, Kindle, and Fitbit. See, I threw a couple of non-Apple products in there at the end just to keep things interesting. 😉

I was introduced to the world of stamping and card making almost 15 years ago by my best friend. She would send me beautiful handmade cards for my birthday, holidays, etc. and I decided I wanted to learn how to do it, too. I attended a card making workshop near my home and was immediately hooked!

In 2010, I made the decision to go back to school and continue my education. Since I was still working full-time as well, I had to take a break from paper crafting since my evenings and weekends were now focused on my studies. Once I completed my degree in the fall of 2014, I quickly returned to my love of stamping and started making cards again.

I became in independent Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator in February 2016. Over the next several months, I promoted twice to reach the title of Silver. Due to some health issues, I had to step down for a bit, but never lost my love of Stampin’ Up products. I rejoined Stampin’ Up as a demonstrator in November 2017.

In addition to being a Stampin’ Up demonstrator, I’m also honored to be part of two design teams outside of Stampin’ Up. In the Fall of 2016, I was asked to be a Guest Designer for Catherine Pooler Designs for the release of her Foundations Box. Not long after that, she invited me back as a Guest Designer for one of her Stamp of Approval releases. I went on to become a full-fledged member of her design team beginning in January 2017. This includes designing for her Stamp of Approval collections, other new releases to her product line, as well as for challenges and classes at her StampNation online community of stampers.

In the summer of 2017, I was invited by Michele Gross of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps to become a member of her Encouragement Squad. The Encouragement squad is the design team for her Calling All Sistahs Challenge Blog.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and wanting to get to know a bit more about me. I hope you enjoy my designs!
