Mel's Card Corner | About Me

I’m a Tennessee girl who now lives in southern California. I love drinking coffee, creating handmade cards, reading, traveling, and cheering on my beloved University of Tennessee Volunteers football team. I’m a total geek and love all things related to technology & gadgetry including my iPhone, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, Kindle, and Fitbit. See, I threw a couple of non-Apple products in there at the end just to keep things interesting. 😉

I was introduced to the world of stamping and card making about 15 years ago by my best friend. She would send me beautiful handmade cards for my birthday, holidays, etc. and I decided I wanted to learn how to do it, too. I attended a card making workshop near my home and was immediately hooked!

In 2010, I made the decision to go back to school and continue my education. Since I was still working full-time as well, I had to take a break from paper crafting since my evenings and weekends were now focused on my studies. Once I completed my degree in the fall of 2014, I quickly returned to my love of stamping and started making cards again.

Since returning to card making, I’ve been blessed to be part of a few amazing design teams. In the fall of 2016, I was invited by Catherine Pooler to be a guest designer for the release of her Foundations Box. I was then asked to join her StampNation Dream Team for 2017. I was also a Girl Friday for the 2017 Encouragement Squad for CAS-ual Friday Stamps. Currently, I’m part of the 2018 Creative Team for Catherine Pooler Designs.

Thanks for stopping by and getting to know a bit more about me. I hope you enjoy my blog and designs!
